Officially formed in March 2002, Shane Murphy has since played its unique and widely appealing variety of funk and blues at over 300 live shows to a collective audience of thousands. Most recently, Shane Murphy opened for the legendary reggae band Steel Pulse at the Spectrum in Montreal, Quebec.The band has a solid fanbase in their hometown of Montreal, thanks to powerful and original live shows. They have also toured successfully in the United States, Atlantic Canada, and Quebec. In July 2004, the band made appearances at Woodstock en Beauce, the Rimouski Jazz Festival, and at Rimouski en Blues.Their debut EP, The Shane Murphy Trio (What a Girl Needs), consists of five songs recorded between February and May 2002, at DNA Productions in Montreal.
