Proodeftiki Neolaia Football Club was founded on 1927 in Korydallos Piraeus . The team’s emblem , the phoenix , is a mythological bird in the size of an eagle , which born from its ashes . This legend symbolizes the eternity of the soul . In Proodeftiki’s first years Kyriakos Boulgarakis was the chairman who raised the reputation of the club . In early 60’s the club played mostly in Greek A Division (Superleague) and in 1964-1965 was 4th in the league table, the best position ever . The legendary Proodeftiki’s team of the 60’s with players such as Frantzis , Skoufos , Glezos , Germenis , Philios , Terkesidis , Spetsarias . Proodeftiki played In Municipal Ground Of Nikaia – Korydallos and in Karaiskai Stadium (with average attendance 12000) .Afterwards , for several seasons the club played in B & C Division . New chairmen came such as Karra’s family . The most league appearances for the club conceded by Giannis Angelopoulos (365) and the most goals by Isaak Almanidis (62) .Today the club plays in Second division .It has the character of a "tough" team, both for their playing style and their fun attitude. The club had the owner Giannis Karras, for more than 15 years.Today (2007) Proodeftiki has one of the worst season in her 80years history .
Giannis Karras left the club with a lot of depts , and the club relegated in the 4th division...Mpatagiannis is the new chairman and a lot of other persons will help the club to play again in the greek superleague...

More .. The stadium's official name is "Nikea Stadium", as it lies just within the boundaries of the Municipality of Nikea, however most people know it as "Korydallos Stadium". It lies about 2 km east of Neapoli Stadium, home ground of Proodeftiki's local rivals, Ionikos.The ground is notoriously small; it is also called "the cage of Korydallos" and if you take a look at the pictures on this page, you will understand why! It was somewhat upgraded in 2000, becoming an all-seater, with a new turf and new lights. Proodeftiki FC have repeatedly expressed their will to leave Korydallos Stadium, something that may happen in the future, provided that a new planned stadium gets the green light by local authorities.The stadium is owned by the ?unicipality of Nikea
