Currently the guitarist of the band Unwanted Heroes, Grady has worked with bands such as Deadwood, Loophole and various local artist of the greater Seattle area. In 1999 McDonald joined an alt country band called Deadwood. This band was led by singer / songwriter Jon Butler from Castle Rock Washington. Deadwood's success was based on a couple of things: Thier CD entitled "Rendezvous", which granted radio airplay (heavy rotation on KEXP's Thursday nights "swing'n doors"), and headlining reputable venues on weekends. A few of these venues consisted of The Crocodile, The Tractor and the Sunset. Deadwood's CD still sells in most local music stores. Deadwood's success presented the opportunity to open for international acts such as the Derailers at the Tractor in Ballard Washington and Kenny Chesney at the Gorge in George Washington. On the verge of gaining international success, Deadwood broke up in 2003. Just before the bands breakup, McDonald joined a local pop rock band called Loophole. Led by singer - songwriter Anthony Monaco, Loophole's music is in the same genre as bands such as Match Box 20, Jimmy Eat World and Blink 182. In 2004 Grady parted with the band to focus on his own music. Listen to Loophole here as my friends on MySpace, and go to thier web site: loopholeworld.com.Grady has also had the privledge of working with local country music hero Justin Lakaula.
