About Me

Katherine is a singer-songwriter currently living in White Plains, NY. She is at the beginning of a reemergence with her song-writing and performing. Katherine previously had an extensive performing career in NYC including a self-released debut CD entitled Clouds Can Break. Her life now as teacher and single working mother have ultimately led her back to her art because it is here where the many aspects of her life meet in synergy. Katherine’s alternative folk songs are reflective and insightful as she considers the journey of her life, its many heartaches and losses, it precious moments and successes, and her ongoing quest for self-understanding and liberation. Her themes are ones familiar to anyone who has struggled with the harshness that life can deliver, and who have or hope to ultimately find and savor life’s exquisiteness even in its darkest moments. The CLOUDS CAN BREAK CD was recorded in 1997 as Katherine’s 16 years in NYC drew to a close. It ultimately served as a tribute to her many years of songwriting and performing, and dreams of breaking into the biz. But, more than that it was a chance to create a lasting archive of some great moments and inspiration. Everyone who collaborated on the album from the music to the artwork did so with gracious creativity. And, it remains a lasting snapshot of a pinnacle in Katherine’s life as a performer and songwriter.Yet, shortly after the release of the CD, Katherine made the big move all the way out to the ‘burbs in search of a less hectic and theoretically 'easier' life. The years in the city were full of lots of adventures some good, some not so good. And, the music was always the primary guiding force to every decision made. Yet ultimately, the life of a singer-songwriter was neither as promising nor rewarding as her earlier dreams. So, now she’s working in music as a teacher and keeping her fan base of about 400 kids entertained and uplifted in an elementary school out in Westchester.Life as a teacher, and now also a mom is a good one. And, while her music is still her favorite creative endeavor, life has brought lots of other avenues for expression. And, happily, the simpler joys of a more modest life with good friends and family, and a good job are keeping this 40-something year old busier and far more fulfilled than the life-fantastic of a struggling musician.Clouds can break… and you never know what may reveal itself once they clear…Most recently Katherine had the chance to collaborate with Larry Edoff and Adam Pascal on their upcoming album BLINDING LIGHT (April 2008). Check out a video glimpse into the recording session of the haunting tune "Pause the Clock" where Katherine’s teaching world met beautifully with her recording world.Pause the Clock - Rev
