Ho iniziato a suonare la chitarra all'età di 16 anni come autodidatta,ascoltando i dischi di Dire Straits,Pino Daniele e Joe Satriani...qualche anno dopo mi sono iscritto al Conservatorio di Aosta,dove ho ottenuto la tanto sudata licenza di teoria e solfeggio e il quinto anno di chitarra classica.Contemporaneamente ho iniziato un percorso di studi incentrati sul jazz,prendendo parte a lezioni di musica d'assieme e improvvisazione sotto la guida del contrabbassista Stefano Solani e del chitarrista Gabriele Ferro.Ho partecipato poco dopo all'Umbria jazz 2006,dove ho avuto il piacere di assistere alle lezioni e ai seminari tenuti dagli insegnanti della Berklee..In tutto questo periodo però,ho sempre avuto il fiato sul collo da parte del buon vecchio Rock,che devo dire continua a tenermi compagnia... Attualmente sto frequentando il Conservatorio Vivaldi di Alessandria,dove studio infinite materie tra cui chitarra jazz con Pino Russo,e suono prevalentemente nel circuito Biellese,collaborando a progetti quà e là...Questo spazio lo dedico per conoscere persone,musicisti e non,e soprattutto per far sentire un pò di mia musica,che provvederò a mettere on line al più presto.

Hi everybody! Let me introduce myself: my name is Martin Pines and I was born in 1983. I got in touch with music since I was a little child, when I had fun playing with steel saucepans that I found into the dresser or using a tennis racket pretending to be a great guitarist (I defy you to say you’ve never done it!). When I was 10 I became infatuated with disco music and thank to it I mugged up a bit of computer recording (I’ve even composed disco symphonies!). I started playing the guitar at 16 like an autodidact by listening to Dire Straits, Pinetree Daniel and Joe Satriani…A few years later I have enrolled at the Academy of Music of Aosta, where I’ve sweated blood to achieve the licence in theory and solfeggio and the fifth year diploma of classic guitar. At the same time I’ve started a course of study based on jazz, tacking part in lessons of music for ensemble and improvisation under the guidance of the double bass player Stephen Solani and the guitarist Gabriel Iron. Shortly afterwards I’ve joined in the Umbria Jazz Festival 2006, where I was really pleased to attend lessons and seminars run by teachers of the Berklee Academy…During all this time, however, the good old Rock has always been at my elbow and it keeps on being - let me say - a nice fellow. Nowadays I’m attending the courses at the Academy of Music “Vivaldi” of Alessandria, where I’m studying an endless number of subjects including jazz guitar with Pine Russian; moreover I’m teaching playing the guitar to children at the “ATELIER DI MUSICA” of Biella and I’m prevalently playing the guitar in the Biellese area, collaborating to projects here and there…I consecrate My Space to know people (musicians or poor mortals…:-)) but above all to promote my music, that I will put on line as soon as possible.
