Lemur vs. Meerkat

About Me

After winning Miss Teen Idaho 1986, Marc Orton formed a lovable yet inspiring band called "Dr. Orton's 100% Natural Good-Time Family-Band Solution". It was during auditions for the coveted role of cow-bell player when he met his muse: Angie Stevens. The two quickly formed a band that did not get much air play in the U.S. but were "Huge in Estonia!!" according to Dr. Orton. Sick of the tabloids and hustle-bustle lifestyle of Estonia the two settled in their native territory. Now the two live in half a house in Boise's North End with their cats: Bitty Witters and Delicious Omelet. Aside from their favorite duo "Angie Stevens and the Mark," (which features a wealth of European, African, Central, and North American folk instruments), Marc and Angie are currently collaborating with a couple side projects starting with the dynamic indie/rock 'n roll project of guitarist and longtime friend Dave Ewing called "Lemur vs. Meerkat". The two have also been practicing and gigging around with the ol' Arkansas dobro/classical guitarist Ronny Long, featuring ol' tyme country/blues with plenty of harmonica, spoons and jews harps. Also you can catch them playing many shows with the fabulous Billy G Camp Band. This group has an eclectic sound, ranging from southern blues to phrygian surf rock, but can most easily be classified as a Clay Aiken tribute band. With Billy G, Angie primarily plays violin and sings, while Marc busts on drums, percussion, and harmonica. Come see us around town. Who knows... you might even get a bass thrown at your face!
