About Me
Born in North West London to Jamaican parents, Chardel started singing in talent compétions, local sound systems and open mic sessions accompanied by her guitar. After having passed two year signed at (Island Record) in a group called (Sprinkler) as a singer/songwriter, Chardel learned how to navigate in the world of the Show Business. She wanted to resume her studies of commercial music so she enrolled on a degree course at the University of Westminster. Not prepaired to leave her love for performing and songwriting behind, Chardel penned chart topping songs for Billie Piper, Boom and Mintman and set stages alight across Europe and Switzerland . Whilst at Uni she learned all the various facets from the world of the music, marketing, management and production and with degree in pocket, Chardel left to tour the world with Natacha Atlas, traversing the United States, Turkey, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Lebanon, France etc.... At the end of this same tour Chardel met the love of her life with whom she started a family. Chardel does not miss a crumb of her life and takes her role as a mother very much to heart. Determined to remaine active in her career, she continued to experiment improvised writing and composition, with the help of her husband. Together they continue the adventure. Chardel tutored courses of vocal technique, and collaborated on four albums (Cant Stop, Voices of the Forest, Perfumes of Spring, Wild Sanctuary). During this period, she met a wide variety of artists, musicians and producers one of which was called “Trackx Dealerâ€, a Parisian beat maker who is none other than the brother in law of Chardel's husband. The personal life of Chardel carried her out to Jamaica for a period three months, a time which ended up being way too short because that was when she decided to collaborate with her cousin, the heavy weight d.j Cutty Ranks. Chardel and her husband decide to produce other international Jamaican artists thus prolonging they’re stay in Kingston, Jamaica and the birth of the label Buss International Records was born. Their impetus is accompanied by important musical blows to the heart from Michael Rose, Mavado and Capleton, which they record at King Jammy' s studios, Waterhouse, Kingston . The artist Chardel changes radically her style in colaboation with her husband and has writen a new album "THIS IS MY TIME". It is a reconection with her origins and the harmony in love with her husband, and their two marvellous children that brings Chardel back in 2008 with an album of quality which is likely to mark its time.
