I have been playing music since December 25 1998. Up to this point I could barely play a radio. My wife Amity & son Zarek got me a guitar for Christmas that year. Since then I have been playing at the local church that I attend. I guess it was just that, Jesus wanted me to do something for him so he provided the instrument's and he put the talent and desire in my heart. I started with the guitar and well after alot of strumming I finally got the hang of it. Check out the Three Wooden Crosses video below. The year my dad died with altzhimers I learned to play the banjo while I was hanging out with him. You see dad could play anything he touched basically and he played up until a week of his death, so I had a full array of instruments at my disposal. After my dad died on one Tuesday I took his mandolin to work to clean & change the strings out. I was listening to Ricky Skaggs play The Little Mountain Church House and I just started playing it the next day I went to church and played The Little Mountain Church House the following August I traded my electric guitar for a mandolin. I was at church one night and a Godly man named Larry Burton was playing a twelve string guitar and it sounded beautiful he asked me later if I would like it and I told him I didn't have the money to buy it and just like that he said "I didn't ask you to buy it". This is exactly how Jesus works. I was playing a jam session in Henry Co. Va. and my wife's uncle John Pete Guilliams gave me an autoharp. You see Jesus has been so good to me that I really can't let him down. I have lots of friends in the business that I am very proud to have known. I've had the opportunity to play music with some of the greatest musicians all the way from my dad Haywood Sherman Holt, to Ronnie Bowman. I have a really great family too. I'm just so blessed. All I'm waiting on now is Growing Old with the Love of my life, A Recording Deal, To appear on the Grand Ole Opry, And the Rapture. May God Bless!!!When I Get Where I'm Going
