Carnivore Adaption

About Me

History Of the Producer ; Chris C'tan

The roots of death-robot music can be traced back to when I started with 90's metal bands like Will Haven, Meshuggah (which got me obsessed with Polymetric stuff) as well as especially older Hip-Hop groups like Public Enemy and newer ones like Dalek, Techno Animal and Cannibal OX. Somewhere along the line I got bored of guitars but wanted something structurally and aggressively similar to those bands I enjoyed, then some college friends sucked me back into the warhammer 40k hobby and I became obsessed with those evil space robots and bought a load. I loved the imagery, depth and complexity to the their mythology so much it became my central motivation to make music. I tended to try and use similar musical structures to Will Haven and the 'Necron' influence made me want to create it as a soundtrack for these rusted metallic terrors which is how I came up with that trademark vocal effect that I never ever get bored of which you can hear in all Death-Robot projects. I had the idea for the voice in my head for years but it took 4 years to really get it to how I wanted. I like the idea of using synths as guitar-equivilents by trying to create textured and heavy sounds from them too but most bands tend to either use guitars with dance/techno or add samples/synths to metal so there that too was another motivation to create this style to fill in that musical-hole that I had yearned for, for so many years. Now in 2007 I present my latest and new main project Carnivore Adaption where I hope to exlore tribal influences and more horror themed sci-fi concepts.
Carnivore Adaption - "Tribe Of Bones"
01-Shaper
02-Ferocious Infinity
03-Ancient Contraption
04-One Thousand Drums
05-Rituals Of Blood
06-K'narlok
07-Tribal Death Robot
08-Slaughter The Weak
09-Native Paradoxia
10-Jewelery Of Bones
11-Forest Of Steel
12-Bleeding Land
13-Unending War

Finally, the main-project from Chris C'tan has unleashed its first ever album, aptly named "Tribe Of Bones", this onslaught of ultra-brutal Death-Robot assaults you from all ends and at times will overwhelm the senses with its cybernetic grooves and mechanical attitude. Tribal grooves and drums and a more percussive feel to the mix and the devestating Death-Robot vocal attack leaves you overwhelmed with its extreme aggression. From the slow obliterating tracks like "Shaper" and the intensity of "K'narlok" to more mid-paced grooves like "Native Paradoxia" and "Bleeding Land", Tribe of Bones is an album that is THE absolute must-have for all Death-Robot music fans. Amongst the aggression are pure tribal grooves like "Rituals Of Blood" and "Jewelery Of Bones" as well as classic Death-Robot anthems like the groove-laden "Tribal Death-Robot" and bombastic cybernetic tribal anthem of "Slaughter The Weak" to the closing harshness and impact of "Unending War". Tribe Of Bones is the start of a Death-Robot revolution headed by the Carnivore Adaption tribes which will lead it to war.
JUST RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE-AS :
Carnivore Adaption is a Death-Robot project from the creator and pioneer of the genre ; Chris C'tan. Taking over from Tourian his previous Main Project, Carnivore Adaption promises to take the sound of the genre to new limits and beyond mixing in tribal percussion and influences with brand new themes of horror as described in the below concept. The sound of this music is much like most death-robot music but with the tribal elements and much more aggressive and robotic synths and harder production. The albums of this project will each focus on a different Tribe of Carnivore Adaption. The albums will change the sound slightly to include the unique themes of each tribe.
PLEASE PUT THIS BANNER ON YOUR MYSPACE PAGES AND WEBSITES TO SUPPORT ME :
Across space and sometimes even time, the Carnivore Adaption travels the stars. A massive collective of millions of rusted metalic skeletons marked with the signs of their tribes. These insane twisted robots adorn themselves with the very bones of those they have slain out of hatred for the living, the one and only emotion remaining within them and the drive behind their very existence. They travel space in distinct tribes attacking, raiding and destroying all who oppose them like godlike relics from an age of chaos where the machine reigned supreme over all life, but now life spits from the universe in such sheer amounts it has enraged these machines to rise from their space crypts to engage the flesh in bitter eternal war.

Tribe Of Bones :
The skull tribe wear the bones of their victims and paint themselves with tribal markings to represent their tribe. The Tribe Of Bones is the most common tribe of the Carnivore Adaption race, their legions are spread all across the universe battling the flesh for new trincets. Tribe Of Bones take the remaining flesh/organic parts to fuel their massive space-fleets as they believe they can only rest once all the flesh of the universe is destroyed and as long as their is fuel their is flesh to defeat.
The Feudal Tribe :
Feudal japanese style, their armour is part of their robotic bodies. They are one of the largest and most organised Carnivore Adaption tribe.
Tribe of the blood :
Their bodies red in the blood of their victims, they prefer close-combat weapons and carry blood-extraction devices as well as tubes which feed the blood into their own metal bodies to consume as fuel.
Vudun Tribe :
Voo-doo death-robots, strange and mystical the voo-doo style tribe carry metallic dolls which are able to psychically attach themselves to their victims while the machines torture the dolls till the victims die and the doll renews itself ready for the next victim. They are secretive and stealthy compared to the other tribes.
The Lost Tribe :
The lost tribe were nearly all destroyed by the explosion of their solar-systems sun. The surviving legions metallic bodies are so distorted from the power of the sun they have become twisted algamations of their previous unlives.
Tribe Of Time :
This tribe adapted themselves to use time-travel. It is their sole attempt to travel time to eradicate organic life forever. Constant exposure to the time-vortex has distorted their carapaces and armour turning them into firey red ghostly apparitions that appear out of nowhere to lay waste to the universe from the beggining, middle and ends of all time.
The Nomadic Tribe :
The Nomadic tribe of the Carnivore-Adaption choose to be seperate from each other. A long time ago their logic circuits developed a sense of joy from killing the flesh, and eventually this became the equivilent of a sport to them. They would compete against each other on human-populated worlds hunting and slaying for the sheer pleasure of it which eventually lead them to become the nomadic tribe they now are. Unlike the others they will gladly customise themselves to improve their abilities and to compete with their own brethren.
Commonly asked questions :
1) You have so many projects and albums its ridiculous, why so many different names and projects ?
Because its fun! I find making so much music to be therapeutic, relaxing and satisfying. It keeps me going too.
2) Do you ever worry people wont be able to keep up with the sheer amount of material you put online ?
Its been mentioned to me alot, and id like to get a proper website made up properly so people can keep up with it all!
3) All your death-robot stuff sounds pretty samey, dont you think its rather ridiculous ?
perhaps to some, but I find the sound of it to be very addictive and I cant get enough of it! If people want to hear more varied material then I have plenty of non-death-robot projects to listen to, I love trying lots of other styles too especially stuff related to breakbeats and trance.
4) Why dont you just put everything out under one name ?
Part of the fun for me is all the different names and imagery. I love making up new storylines for each album/project. I also enjoy making all the artwork, logos and stuff too. I will however keep Carnivore Adaption as my "main" project.
5) What inspired you to make your own music-style ?
Iv always been a big metal fan, of bands like Will Haven, Meshuggah and loved the compositions and grooves but nothing like that existed in the electronic realm, so I took it to do it myself and create my own "perfect music style". I also love Necrons and dark imagery and that inspired me to create the focus of the music-style, that vocal effect you always here. I suppose its my trademark too, I always wanted a music-style based around that vocal style so I did it myself.
Slaughter the weak, for the god of desolation. True images conclude our usefullness, true slaughter creates the new hell as wires and circuitry rise from oceans of unforgiven blood to show them all. A fire of man, a rage of nature, recreated to our own needs. We'll slaughter the weak, the weak flesh. Slaughter the weak, the dying ones of pain. Once born they die, once dead they rot so useless are their lives, we give them peace, we give them death but flesh must be eternally punished.
