Casual Monks

Causal Monks started as a fashion label by fashion designer Truman. Truman pulled in dj producer Ray Kong to start the Casual Monks music project to inject a different dimension to his fashion label. Both Truman and Ray shared the same taste in music and together they created the first Casual Monks e.p. Ray picked up the project from where it left off and focus on new-wave and indie style which resemble the music he listened to and enjoyed in his childhood years. With the influence from his childhood heroes like New Order/Joy Division, The Cure, The Smiths, Style Council, Visage, Depeche Mode, Ultravox, Kraftwerk, YMO, OMD, Human League, This Mortal Coil, Cocteau Twins, and labels like Factory, 4AD, Rough Trade, Cherry Red, expect to hear the sound of 80's new wave and indie blends in with contemporary eclectic style.
