About Me

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Well I've given this a lot of thought, and I think I'd really like to meet....people. I know, I know--call me a species-ist if you will, but I really think I'm going to have to limit myself in this way. Beyond that I'm pretty much open, but I would prefer that anyone I meet through here be human. So all you chipmunks and vervets and ocelots and fruitbats and octopi and dogs and what not who have been clever enough to figure out how to operate a computer and who have further managed to create profiles on MySpace, bravissimi on your accomplishment but I'm afraid we just wouldn't have enough in common to make chatting worthwhile for me.

The Cricket

The other day I was walking to my car across the parking lot at work and there was a small, black cricket sitting there near my path. When I got close, he jumped frantically away. With each step as I ...

A noticing . . .

I've noticed lately that I'm spending a lot of time squeezing my lips closed. When I smile at people lately, before I'm aware that I'm doing this I'm raising the sides of my mouth but clenching the ce...

A Passionate Tale

Over time I've invested a good deal of angst over not having any idea what my passions are. Well, more precisely, over not being able to ARTICULATE what my passions are. Every time I'd try to think ab...

Even when it matters, does it matter?

So as you probably imagine, I voted yesterday. I was very excited to do it--for once a vote in an Indiana primary was going to mean something at the presidential level! On Monday I used an online too...
