Not much is really known publicly about this illustrious and gifted songwriter, singer, guitarist and luthier. Highly respected for both his songs and guitar making he gives his all in both worlds. Tony Duggan Smith began his recording career with the Toronto / Scottish based band, The Pukka Orchestra who released several recordings in the early 80's to global success with many songs receiving top 40 chart listing in Canada and internationally recorded by successful outside artists.
In demand as one of Canada's finest songsmith's, Tony finds his days filled with adventures in procuring lumber from remote places on earth to build guitars for some of the finest guitarists in the world. A rare breed unto itself are these crafty individuals who have devoted their lives to the creation of unique instruments.
Though Tony has written in all configurations, some of his favourite sessions could well be represented in the songs he co-writes with Grammy award winning Alannah Myles, one of which, entitled 'Prime Of My Life' is featured on her new Black Velvet CD with many more to follow on her upcoming release, A Work In Blue.
Tony has finally completed a musical project with Russ Walker and Neil Chapman entitled Autocondo which we will be uploading periodically. It features many new original tunes.
