"Now this is happening.....that's how I roll"

About Me

Constantly on the move and usually only in one place long enough to plot my escape (14 moves in 10 years has to win me some kind of award). A self-proclaimed genius and a SoCal girl born and bred, but would sell my soul to the highest bidder just to be in Sydney right now. (update: current highest bidder is apparently me! Thousands of dollars later, I'm here and loving it and re-learning important things like how to cheat death by looking the correct way when crossing the street and remembering how bad Vegemite tastes). Updates to follow when I have some.....

My Interests

Travelling (both the exotic and the mundane), good books, reading the Sunday paper cover to cover over Bloody Marys or coffee...or both, testing out new breakfast places, swimming, hiking, watching AFL games (go the Lions!), converting Americans into AFL fans, winning pub trivia, Trivial Pursuit, eating TimTams "the coffee way", films with subtitles, cheezy 80's movies, going to parties where I don't know anyone and leaving knowing everyone.

Music:

I'm all over the place on this one. Highlights include: Powderfinger, Pete Murray, Killers, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, ABBA, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Mr. Brownstone, BeeGees, pretty much anything disco, Kylie Minouge, Franz Ferdinand, Queen, White Stripes, Thirsty Merc, Scissor Sisters, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Elvis, Jet, Norah Jones, 80's one-hit wonders (I don't discriminate, I love them all), Ben Lee, the theme to 90210.....

Movies:

English Patient, Toy Story, Raiders, A Very Long Engagement, Motocycle Diaries, Hello Dolly! (don't knock it till you've seen it), The Little Mermaid, Muriel's Wedding, Shaun of the Dead, The Philadelphia Story, Whale Rider, Anchorman

Television:

Kath & Kim, The Panel, 90210 re-runs, GA, 30 Days, Arrested Development

Books:

There are just way way too many to list here....I have a literary sickness that makes me read everything, right down to the back of the cereal box. Around the top of the list (ie--the ones I have read so many times, that the covers are dog-eared): Life of Pi, Loose Lips, The Drifters, The Grrl Genius Guide to Life, Q & A, anything Fitzgerald ("Bernice Bobs Her Hair" is probably my favourite of his short stories), In Cold Blood, Alice in Wonderland, etc
