November Fire

About Me

Late 80's, early 90's Terry and Dave get a hold of guitars and the classic "guerilla amp". Calling themselves "SF" they go on to create controlled "noise" interweaving storytelling, highlighted by the rock opera "JOE". It took Dave's party time at UMASS Amherst to gain the skill and style that would officially elevate this noise to music. Ending up together at Montserrat Art school in Beverly MA, and with plenty of time to write and jam, Terry and Dave worked on actual songs. Convincing their Japanese room mate "Taka" to buy some drums, and do some playing, a sound began to emerge. Though "Taka" had the drums, his inability to keep from laughing his ass off while playing made practice difficult. Then came Jay, Terry and Dave's great buddy throughout high-school, a budding chemical engineer and former High School marching Band drummer. "Borrowing" Taka's drum set that summer the 3 friends finished the foundation that still continues. Throughout the summer, and back into the art school season, the 3 jammed at late hours in cellars and art school studios. November Fire's first official gig was in the far reaches of norther Vermont in a small bar called Gumbi's in 1992, earning just enough money for breakfast and gas for the 5 hour journey back home. Since then November Fire has played various gigs, benefits, keg parties, metal nights at clubs, with the various amazing people listed below. Year long Hiatuses from time to time, the bonds still bring them back together for another run of songs, and another glimmer of hope, and another change in sound. 2008, and 17+ years later, and another run of songs in the works.
