Josh Porter, otherwise known locally as hip-hop recording artist EduKateD, has been a New England native since the 1st day of birth. While growing up, Josh Porter's father owned two record stores and also was/is an aspiring blues guitarist. So while growing up Josh aka. EduKateD, always had music influences all around him. At the early age of 15 years old, Josh started writing poetry. After 6 months of writing Josh has a poem published in a local newspaper. He kept writing poetry until the age of 19, until meeting someone that started working with him who goes by the name Josh Maldanaldo. Josh Maldanaldo worked as an MTV Casting Director, but also was in the 'Hip-Hop' scene. He was an influence on turning Josh's writings into a more of a hip-hop level. Josh started getting Instrumentals and writing to the beats. At the age of 19/20 he recorded his first song called "How I Love You" and from then on, it just kept coming. EduKateD since has opened up for acts such as 'The Roots', 'Cappadonna' from 'Wu-Tang', and other big named local artists such as 'Savin iLL', 'K-9', 'Alias', 'Lyrical', 'Omega Red', and many many more. EduKateD also started entering the Battle Circuit. He entered his first battle at an underground hip-hop club in Harlem, NY and ended up losing the first round. EduKateD then tried in the 2004 16 man emcee battle @ the Boston BaySide ExpoCenter for one of the nations biggest car shows..."Hot Import Nights". EduKateD made it to the finals and came in second place. So throughout 2005, EduKateD created a few more tracks and also won a couple local battles. So DJ Yoshi invited EduKAteD back to the 2005 Hot Import Nights with a special performance and also to enter the battle. EduKAteD beat out 15 enmcees to take the trophy home, and also battle JIN from the Ruff Ryders for an Encore Performance. In MID 2005, EduKateD teamed up with a producer from Manchester named Joshua Casper who owned 1127 Records, and FATE another recording artist. With a few other shows on hand and EduKateD's first single "How we do it", EduKateD's hip-hop career looked promising by the minute. Then Casper moved to Atlanta, so EduKateD and FATE started EF Records, and hosted shows once a month at ScorZ in Nashua. Then with the fall-out of situations turning sour..EF REcords fell off. So in mid/late 2006, EduKateD started 'FoKuseD Productions/Entertainment' which is a record label/promotional company, which also teamed up with GDS Entertainment and Legato in 08. EduKateD's long awaited DEBUT album "Beyond the Surface" is Definately due out in 2009, along with The EduKateD & Legato collaboration album called "After Hours".EduKated is always available for bookings so email:
