Since a small child matt has been influenced by his Dj Brother "Extreme”. In the early days matt was subjected to different early genres of dance music such as rave, jungle and House.
This allowed matt to be heavily influenced by the different dance cultures and this propelled into the music world. Starting in 2002 Matt started from the bottom in music scene. Before deciding on music career matt attended various colleges (NCN Clarendon, High Pavement) and studied various subjects including Computing, Business and apprenticeship in mechanical engineering. Unfortunately matt was not content with the career path he chose and felt that music was in his heart. He then signed up to a Music Technology course and that’s where it all began.
At college he was able to learn and develop his producing skills/techniques. His first track was called "Bounce" in 2001, which was a simple fusion of cut up drum hits and simple analogue bass motif. The track was basic but acted as a pivotal moment on matt’s future aspirations. In 2003 matt landed a job to help promote a drum n bass night in Derby called Blue Jam. The club showcased some famous Drum n bass Dj's such as Zinc, Hazard and Dj Extreme.
Due to the competition of other nights Blue jam ended. However he was able to grasp an insight into promoting. In 2003 Weekend breaks was formed into a new club night in Derby which played mainly break beat .He was given a job promoting and designing the flyers for the night. The nights were successful but due to the lack of demand for break beat in Derby the night ended in 2004.Howevr in 2005 matt passed his BND Music Technology with Flying colours.
He then applied to Leeds Met University and was accepted on a BSC in Music Tech. Since 2005-2007 matt as produced a catalogue of different music including Drum n bass Ep’s "Forever and Always”, Break beat Ep's "The time has come”. This allowed him to cross over into different genres of music and produced some Hip-hop albums for various artists "Chilla D, Tiny & Capital R". In university matt as been able to grasp the different areas of music production and as worked on music for film/TV/radio "university projects”.
This has allowed matt to progress in producing and composing. Matt is s now able to write musical scores and composition which give matt various musical avenues in the future. His talents also stretch as far as producing music for dj’s intro music and jingles such as "Dj Extreme Ragga/Sci fi intro's". In 2007 matt passed several drum n bass tracks "One Love" and "something in the air" to several promoters "Endless promotions" and dj's including Dj Itch, Extreme, Paul F...The reviews were good and highlighted the hard work and dedication of matt.
In the near future matt is looking into starting his own record label “Extreme Recordings” and is looking into releasing his tracks in late 2008-09.
