About Me

San Francisco's own, Brandon Etzler is one of the most sought after jazz,New orleans,Funk,Reggae/Ska and R&B drummers in the Bay Area. His feel and spirit are reminiscent of those legendary drummers who have created and shaped the music we call jazz and Funk. Drawing on influences such as Idris Muhammad, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Clyde Stubblefield,Lyodd Knibbs, Bill Stewart,Elvin jones, Jack DeJohnette, Roy haynes, Carlton Barret and Joseph "Zigaboo"Modeliste, Brandon has forged a unique, syncopated yet melodic style of drumming. Brandon has played and recorded with a number of musical acts including, "The Project", Brandon robinson trio ,"Steppin", "OGD", "Aquatic Groove Session", "Brian coogan" ,"Will bernard, "BluesBeat" and Lake Street Recording Artist and Grammy Nominee, Betty Joplin. There is little doubt that Brandon has found a place in the new generation of jazz and R&B funksters. "excerpt from steves soul factory writings"
