Me? I'm 53. But yet I still believe, like Sam Tyler, that I'm back in the early 1970's. A time when Thatcher stole milk from school kids and the miners had two successful strikes; people talked and fought the class war and Watneys Red Barrel almost sounded the death knell for proper beer. Thank God for CAMRA. A time when Festivals steered well clear of the pop charts and rock was musical. But, as much as I would like, I know live in a Post Thatcher Britain and the Iron Lady's legacy now saturates the Peoples' Flag to a tatty old cloth the colour of the palest hue. Bitter? No not me; I did my part and when my kids ask me "Dad, what did you do during the strike?", I tell them with pride "I did not scab". Yes, I've been a class warrior for many's a year and I've spent all me money on the weed and the beer. "Nil Carborundum Illegitimus".
