Welcome to La Lima's myspace...My name is Leo Magnelli, I'm the guitarist, composer and instigator of the music and activites for La Lima! In the late 2005, with a bunch of songs recorded at my house and two dear friends of mine as Lautaro and Nacho, we began working, arranging and disarranging the musical material in late-night sessions at our houses, amusing ourselves, dining toghether and talking about our things, between notes, scores, jokes and pastys. That filosophy shaped a project that is about to enjoy and having fun making music, get over our inhibitions and trying to give a good time for the people that come to our shows, regardless if they are fans of our style or not, or if they understand what we play or not, it doesn't matter. Art break barriers and music is often classified and labeled, La Lima attempt to beat that and prove to ourselves that it's not only about the notes that we play (many or few), the major figure is the messagge, Love, passion and friendship,letting the audience step into our field,the only thing that remains is what we have to say (or play, in this case...despite our silly jokes of course) La Lima is an organic entity, we believe it has its own living, as in Chalau's words: It's an Attitude, on and off the stage, that's why its members adapt to circumstances. We've played like a trio (most of the times), duo, quartet and up to a quintet, with invited friends. Lautaro "Chalau" Vieyra is living in Paris since 2007, and was at that moment where another main character of this project joined us, my friend and fellow brother Patricio "Wolfman" Prado (Pato), contributing not only with his musical talent and energy, but with his house and cooking skills too! His stews and homemade pizzas are almost well-known as the band, other specialties of the group are the Magnelli soup and the Vieyra veggie pasta ... In 2008 and before my departure to USA, we had the chance to play one last gig all toghether taking the opportunity that Chalau was in Buenos Aires for a month, we also recorded our version of the Argentina's National Anthem at Pato's house, where at least 4 bottles of the finest argentinian wine had perish, and at our farewell, we promised ourselves to meet again and write a new page to the story. Now, with its members spread over the world, the project waits its moment to arise, in the meantime, we live our own experiences (plus my homework of composing more music) that tomorrow we'll use to keep growing as musicians and human beings, essentials nourishments for the spirit of La Lima.Bienvenidos al myspace de La Lima!....Mi nombre es Leo Magnelli, soy guitarrista, compositor e instigador de la música y las actividades de La Lima! A fines del 2005, con un puñado de canciones grabadas en mi casa y dos amigos muy queridos como Lautaro y Nacho, nos pusimos a trabajar ensayando, arreglando y desarreglando el material en sesiones hasta altas horas de la madrugada en nuestras casas, divirtiendonos, cenando juntos y hablando de nuestras cosas entre notas, partituras, chistes y empanadas. Esa filosofia le dio forma a un proyecto que se basa en disfrutar y divertirse haciendo musica, ganarle a nuestras inhibiciones y tratando de que la gente que nos viene a ver la pase casi tan bien como nosotros, sea amante del genero o no, entienda lo que hacemos o no, no importa. El arte rompe barreras y la musica muchas veces esta encasillada, La Lima busca ganarle a eso y demostrarnos a nosotros mismos que no se transmite solo tocando notas (pocas o muchas) el verdadero protagonista es el mensaje, haciendo entrar a la audiencia en nuestro propio terreno todo queda de lado y le da paso a algo mas importante, que es, lo que tenemos para decir (o para tocar en este caso...) La Lima es un ente organico, creemos que tiene vida propia, como lo definio Chalau: es una Actitud, arriba y abajo del escenario, por eso sus integrantes se acomodan a las circunstancias, hemos tocado en trio (la mayor parte de las veces) en duo, cuarteto y hasta quinteto con invitados. Lautaro esta viviendo en Paris desde 2007, fue ahi donde hizo su entrada otro personaje importantisimo en este proyecto, mi amigo y hermano Patricio Prado, aportando no solo su talento musical y energia, sino tambien su casa y su cocina entre otras cosas, sus guisos y pizzas caseras ya son casi tan famosos como la banda, otras especialidades del grupo son la sopa Magnelli y los fideos saltados con verduras Vieyra... En 2008 y antes de mi partida hacia USA, tuvimos la oportunidad de tocar en vivo todos juntos aprovechando que Lautaro estuvo un mes en Buenos Aires y grabar nuestra version del Himno Nacional Argentino en la casa de Pato, donde por lo menos perecieron 4 botellas del mejor vino tinto argentino y al despedirnos nos prometimos unos a otros que nos volveriamos a encontrar para escribir una nueva pagina. Ahora, con sus miembros diseminados por el mundo, el proyecto espera su momento para resurgir, mientras tanto vivimos nuestras propias experiencias (mas mi tarea de componer nueva musica) que mañana nos serviran para seguir creciendo como musicos y seres humanos, alimentos escenciales del espiritu de La Lima.
