Jeni Carr

Born in Fairdale Kentucky, Country artist Jeni Carr grew up much like any other mid-Eastern country girl. Though she was brought up listening to country music, her musical interests didn't take hold until much later in life. Jeni started singing while in high school, but didn't take it seriously until she was about 20 years old. She began singing at local clubs and jamborees and in 1993, made the decision to move to Nashville. While there, she landed a small deal with an independent label. Though the union never amounted to more than some good experience, Jeni still credits the whole situation as being the building blocks of her career. Her small 'stint' in Nashville only fueled her desire to start chasing a dream. In late 1994, she returned to Louisville, and took the lead vocalist position in a group that would later become somewhat legendary, and help launch Jeni to a new level. For 15 years, Pure South has been the driving force behind Jeni's confident, and powerful performances throughout the regional area. In 2006, she began to make tracks towards Nashville. For the past 2 years, Jeni has been writing, recording, and learning the ropes from some of the industry's best. Keep watching for a performance in your area!
