With over 15 years in the music industry, Miami based music producer & songwriter D. Grant has applied his years of experience to become a force to be reckoned with in the Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop music worlds. From scoring films or music videos for top director Gil Green or working with hit music producer Jim Jonsin and his Atlantic Records label Rebel Rock Entertainment, D. Grant understands the importance of change and innovation in the music industry, which has led to his success.
As a young teen, D. Grant began his career as a DJ, hosting Reggae Bashments and spinning at popular South Florida clubs. His passion soon grew from just playing the music, to creating the music. His keen ear and classical piano training led him to form and join the hip-hop group, Backlive, as the DJ/Producer. Backlive went on to have two successful music videos on MTV, BET & the former channel called The Box. Produced and co-written by D. Grant, “1,000 MCs†was voted into the top 20 of several music video countdowns.
Currently D. Grant is working with hit music producer Jim Jonsin and his label Rebel Rock Entertainment as a music producer and songwriter. Working with Jim Jonsin and the Rebel Rock label, D. Grant has been steadily building his production resume, working on several projects with platinum artists, Jim Jonsin expects D. Grant to be a big part of the success.
Through D. Grant’s successes, his determination to become a better musician and even better music producer continues to motivate. He is currently building a team of writers and musicians and is well underway in creating a “Music Production Voltronâ€, with a vision that will help define an era. His long journey has led him to working with one of the most sought after music producers and artists in the industry.
