About Me

My name is Aaron Groover...
Things I enjoy are cooking, playing pool, going out with friends, gemstone collecting, bodybuilding, all different things to do with computers, and making new friends on the internet (seems to be my latest hobby)...I have an undeniable curiosity about things in the world, and also have a knowledge about a lot of different subjects because of it...I pride myself in being intelligent, and seem to excel in everything I do...

My Interests

music, cooking, gemstone collecting, bodybuilding (fitness and nutrition), computers, and dating

I'd like to meet:

Musicians in the Ocala area that want to jam... Also musicians around the country who like to talk shop... Also, John Petrucci of Dream Theater, and the guys from System of a Down...

Music:

First, I gotta pay homage to my favorite guitarists, who are: John Petrucci, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan Joe Satriani, and his pupils, Kirk Hammett and Steve Vai...Also, I love Randy Rhoads and Dimebag Darrell (RIP), Yngwie Malmsteen, Slash, Vinnie Moore, Eric Johnson, Eric Clapton, Tony Macalpine, Steve Morse, Zakk Wylde, Carlos Santana, and Jerry Cantrell... Some of my favorite bands are: Dream Theater, Symphony X, System of a Down, Live, Metallica, Audioslave, Children of Bodom, Taproot, Guns n Roses, Skid Row, Poison, Ozzy Osbourne, the Ventures, Apocalyptica (heavy metal cellists!), Moody Blues, the Eagles, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Incubus, Staind, Coldplay, and Korn...I am sure there are more... I also must mention some local bands, and some bands I have met on myspace, being: our friends Gettendeep and The Merge, also my friend and former bandmate Ryan Turrentine's new band, Vocaldrop, also Outlier out of Sydney Australia really impressed me with their sound for only having three people...I do also want to mention all the musicians on my friends list because they are all outstanding musicians... My favorite classical musicians are, Bach (Invention 13 in Am, Double), Mozart (Turkish March),Paganini (Perpetual Motion, Caprice ..11), Andres Segovia (Tarrega), and Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov (Flight of the Bumblebee)...among others...I do love lots of classical pieces though, but these are some of my favorites:

Movies:

Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Crossroads, Dirty Work, Harold and Kumar, Road Trip, the American Pie Trilogy, Anything with Johnny Depp and Denzel Washington, The Great Outdoors, Van Wilder, mostly comedies, especially Adam Sandler movies, movies with Ryan Reynolds, ...but others as wellI will put more on if I think of any later

Television:

That 70's Show, King of Queens, CSI, Cold Case, Lost, South Park

Books:

Some Anne Rice and Steven King novels, I have only read a few fiction books...I usually read to learn and not be entertained, I am fascinated by so many different things, and I have a specialized knowledge of many different subjects because of this

Heroes:

John Petrucci (lead guitar player for Dream Theater, arguably the most technically perfect band EVER!!!)...
