About Me

Can Dreams Come true? Can they be made a reality? Andrew Sloley has been nurturing his talent for over 3 decade. Well here is the story Of Mr Andrew Sloley. Coming from a family of Kingstonions. Music played, a great part of Andrew Sloley's life. By the time Andrew was 5 years of age, he realised that singing was a major passion in his life. Andrew would listen to the songs that his grandmother and older people would play in those days. Such as Ride me donkey & songs like Stick by me. As Andrew became a little older he started to listen to singers like Dennis Brown, Delroy Wilson, Errol Dunckley, which was a close friend of the family that lived amongst the family as a family member. The famous line quoted by Errol a lot of the time to Andrew was style & pronouciation is very important in singing and Andrew took that in. As a youth Andrew was also very good at running, but his heart was sold out for music. Andrew would dream about the days and times that would come when the world would know about Mr Andrew Sloley. As Andrew became older he would enter singing competitions which he won quite a few. When Andrew's family would go down to Jamacia he would sing on a few of the local sounds, along side his friend Conrad Smith the late Panhead from out of Marvley. They would voice out some of the time on a sound called, Capricorn, from Spanish Town. Most of the time when it was time for Andrew to come back to the U.K they would say dont bother go back stay and make a name for yourself, because U.K dont respect artist's. In a way today Andrew wishe's that he would have listened to them & stayed to persue his dream. Truly all the years Andrew has been knocking on the door's it feels as though he has only just started his journey to sucess. In the late 70's Andrew had the privilledge to meet Sugar Minot, who was in the U.K at the time. He saw Andrew one night perfomingat a club in Peckham called the Bouncing Ball and approached Andrew as he finished his performance & gave Andrew the address of where he was residing which was at Wyndom Road Camberwell. Andrew used to travel with him druing the days to Easy street studio, over in Hackney. Andrew gained a lot of experence and he would say to Andrew NEVER GIVE UP, and tell him the stories of the amount of times they chased him from studio 1 back in Jamacia. Andrew is still holding onto his dream. Then in about 1984, a friend of Andrew's was in a sound called IShamala. Andrew's friend used to tell IShamala sound that he has a friend that he rates as a good singer. One day Andrew's friend came to him and told him that he has been telling IShamala about him and that he needs to come and sing so that they can hear you so they know i aint lying. So Andrew did. They liked Andrew so much they asked him to join the sound. That led Andrew to meet a talented producer and base player, by the name of Wayne Morris, but was known to the people as Dub creator. When he heared Andrew sing he loved Andrew's style and they exchanged numbers. At a later date, they met up and started rehearsing and writing songs together. The 28th of August 1984 Andrew Sloley arrived at JJ studio also to be recorded that day was another artist Clover Cambell. The song that Andrew recorded that day was a song named I've Got A love. Which was written by Andrew Sloley & Wayne Morris(Dub Creator). It was not the first release. The first release was Super Star & My Baby which was a doubleAA 12 inch single, which was released in 1986 on the Smoove record label. Which was set up by Andrew Sloley and Wayne Morris(Dub Creator). In 1987 the second release was I've Got A Love/Girl I Love You(Double AA 12 inch) Andrew & Wayne(Dub Creator) had a good response on Girl I Love You. Which David Roddigon, was the first to play Girl I Love You & credited it as a good song. He even called Andrew & Wayne(Dub Creator) personally to let them know he was going to play it. Then came the relase of Again in 1996 and has many plays on choice FM. Everyone was thinking that, that would be the opening for Andrew Sloley, but all of a sudden the songs was not being played anyomore and everyone followed suit. Wayne(Dube creator) became dissapointed with the polotics of the business, became discouraged and decided to take a break from the music industry. Andrew also found himself not knowing what to do, becasue he was working with Wayne(Dub creator) all the time. So for many years Andrew ended up not doing anything. Until Andrew got a phone call, from Garry Lewis he is known as Digi-Tec and had once had a hit song with Horse Man. Andrew had done Dub plates for Digi-Tec in the past and Gary was a producer who also like Andrew's style. So Gary contacted Andrew letting him know he had not been doing music for a while, because of the same polotics of how it seems to be so hard for artist's in the U.K to brake through. Never the less Andrew and Gary started recorded the first song named Preety Little Brown Skin Girl. Which was written by Gary (Digi-Tec) Then they went on to do Put Down the Gun, Give Thanks and Blue Suede shoes ft Mr Klassic. They also did a album called Digi-Tec Volume 1 ft U.K artit's such as Loyld Brown, Andrew Sloley , Winston Reedy, Leroy Simmons, Michael Gordon, Donette William's Charelle Nadine & Glen Sloley, but again to get support from people it was very hard to acheive. But here a few people that tried to help Andrew and Gary(Digi-Tec) during that tuff period. So Shout's went out to Don Ricardo, Patrick Donegon, Mafia & Fluxy, Gosppiy also the radio DJ's that tried there best to help were, DJ Gussy from Root FM 95.4, DJ Goodaz, Unique FM, 101.2, DJ Trooper & Dazzeler which is on Vibes FM 93.8 also Joan Hudson 3 counties radio, Luton. Also Curly ,Base line FM, Bigga D Blues FM 94.2. Andrew Sloley still tyring to move towards his dream. The after so many years Andrew Sloley & Wayne(Dub Creator) linked up to do a cover version of Lemar's single If There's Any Justice. Which was released on December the 12th 2007. Since Andrew Sloley has put himself up on the Myspace, He has been privilledge to have worked with, Not Easy At All Production, Dub Syntix, U.K Homegrown, Ras in Canada, and many many more. Up to date which was the 14th of Febuary Andrew was given the privilledge to perform on the Tribute to Alton Ellis who has been named the Godfather. Andrew thanks those, like J Thompson also Lovella Ellis, Erron, and all those who were associated in the opprotunity I was given to be able to perform for a man who was truly a legend. Mnay years have gone past, Andrew Sloley as a srtist dose not belive he is where he should be, but as a good solider, Andrew continues, to persue his dreams. And if it is the will of God Andrew's dream will become reality!
