I grew up in Willenhall, England. I have been working in the jewelry industry since graduating in 1996 with a honors degree in Art and Design from UCE Birmingham, UK. ..
During 1997 to 2003 I exhibited my jewelry throughout the UK. In 2001 I opened my own shop in Bristol, and then I moved to Brooklyn, New York in 2003 where I am currently a member of BWAC (Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition).
My Art is abstract mixed media, made from recycled objects that I find on the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan. I use landscapes and memories to develop images from an array of materials. I carve shapes into reclaimed wood and embellish the surface with steel nails to create depth and texture. The strong dark color is intended to add mystery to the piece as elements begin to blend into each other, its not always obvious where each material begins and ends. I add silver leaf and silver ink to mimic the richness of something precious, this works well with the modern/primitive style that I also work into creating jewelry.
