"Hold On While Others Let Go"

About Me

REXIT,
re-exit
or divining an escape or release
The name alone did not take shape in the early moments of the creation of
the band, no.
The beginning was very different from the end result.
A young guy who liked to play the drum, Oscar had a dream of having a
band.... getting ready to go on stage and play for 1000's of people.
Then he came along Kevin, who was excited to join in his wishful thinking
but it kept to thinking, until they met Laurent.
Laurent came a few times to rehearse.
Oscar knew a guy who played guitar and he wanted to join in
so Joey became a member.
But we got sloppy and in the end of the school year it became just a dream
again...
Next school year
Oscar met Diego, he asked if Oscar would teach him to drum
As Oscar taught Diego they realised that when he played guitar, which he
liked playing too and Diego played drums.
They sounded pretty good.
So Oscar informed Laurent, Joey and Kevin
that he had found a drummer for their band to replace him
and he would play lead guitar and Joey would play the melody.
They rehearsed but
they felt like there was something missing...Oscar came to realise that
Olivier, Kevin's brother, played sax. This was what they where missing, a sax.
The 'ROCK' that they where playing then was not enough.
Laurent and Olivier had an idea, that they could do two, different, genres of
music.
The rest of the band thought about it, and really liked the idea.
There was only one problem with Kevin, he didn't knew neither had a bass
guitar. After a while we let him choose and he stepped out of the band. We
rehearsed for about 3 months when Laurent didn't really came a lot.
In the end we all agreed, Laurent as well that it would be the best if he
quit.
Thanks to Joey we came in contact with Mike.
Mike plays bass, but didn't find a band.
After we listened to his bass we all agreed that we should hire the fellow.
Joey wanted to play different genres
of music like grunge and punk.
We sat down with him and said that he was a good friend and all but
that he didn't fit into this kind of band.
So now we are with 4 still playing, still writing the same songs...
Then another problem erupted.
Oscar had two bands and he needed to choose between them
but he couldn't.
So he thought about it and found the perfect solution: he would fuse them
together.
So we're with 8 already.
Melissa, the lead voice of the other band, couldn’t realy find a way to come
to rehearsels.
after a while she said she had figured it out, but the next morning she told
Oscar that it would be better if she stepped out of this band.
7 is our number,
and were still called Rexit
until this very day…
