I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships and Friends

About Me

I was born in Folkestone, England, shortly after WWII ended. I was the daughter of an American soldier and an English mother. My mother and I joined Dad here in April 1946, and I’ve never been back to England. But it is a dream to someday be able to visit the land of my birth. When I was a child I read a biography of Florence Nightingale which inspired me to want to be a nurse when I grew up. When the time came for me to select high school courses, I was told by my parents to study "to be a secretary" because it was more important to send my brothers to college, that they wouldn't be able to send me. A bitter pill, especially considering that neither brother that could have did go to college! Except for 3 1/2 years when I lived in Massachusetts, I’ve lived all of my life in southeastern Connecticut. I grew up and attended school in New London. I’m now a widow and have 3 grown daughters and 3 grandchildren.

In my childhood I was exposed to different kinds of music. My parents often listened to songs that were popular during the war (WWII). Of course, that's when they met, fell in love and got married. And I often heard this gentleman from Scotland, homeland of my paternal grandmother. His name is HARRY LAUDER. I couldn't believe it when I found these on YouTube! The memories came flooding back as I listened. These are VERY OLD recordings, but except for one or two, the quality is amazing.
