Anton Fielding has been a DJ for over 15 years and been involved in music production since ‘96. He was a resident at Red Jerry’s legendary Elements nights in London and from then ..ed Djing internationally in clubs like Womb (Japan), Mint (Buenos Aires), Circus (L.A.), The End (London) and Decadance (Greece), holding residencies at Peter Pan in Italy and his hometown at Newcastle’s super-club Shindig.
Anton has played across the globe alongside such luminaries as James Zabiella, Satoshi Tommie, Peace Division, Oscar G, Seb Fontaine, Paolo Mojo and James Lavelle, playing his trademark sound of dark beats mixed with emotional melodies.
Anton fell in love with electronic music in ’88 through listening to bands like New Order and Depeche Mode. The ensuing acid house explosion brought trips to the nearby industrialised town of Middlesborough, where a pioneering house music club, The Havana, playing a cutting edge mix of house and Balearic beats, galvanised Anton’s will to become involved in the dance music industry…
Fast forward to ’96, mutual friend Mark Huskisson introduced Anton to budding producer B J Robson. Pairing Anton’s love of the darker side of house with Bryan’s musicality produced the first three Solaris Heights records. ‘Solarism’, ‘Fusique’ and ‘Elementis’, released on Paper Records, Guidance in the U.S. and subsequently a raft of Café del Mar and Ibiza Comps, are tracks that had such an impact they’re still played and talked about today.
In ’97 Anton was introduced to producer Chris Scott and with mutual friend Mark Armstrong (Lexicon Avenue) they formed Bone City, releasing ‘Monkey Tennis’ on Forensic Records. This track turned into an anthem at the legendary Body and Soul parties in New York.
After the success of this single, Anton and Chris went on to form a new production duo, The Echomen. Anton and Chris have now racked up around twenty releases for labels such as SAW, The End, Hooj Choonz and Forensic including the singles Substance, Cure and Perpetual; Perpetual being the big record in Miami WMC ’04. Anton and Chris as The Echomen (and off-shoot production outfit Mooncat) have had constant support from their friends Deep Dish, Satoshie Tommie, Sasha and John Digweed and have huge cult followings in countries across the world.
In ’07 Anton started working with B J Robson again under the name Solaris Heights. Releases came on Renaissance, Boxer Sport and Audio Therapy with remixes from stellar names such as Tocadisco, Jerome Sydenham and Popof.
If you’ve danced in a house music club anytime over the past 10 years you can be sure you’ve jacked to one of Anton’s productions.
