Hello I have been producing electronic music for almost 25 years with over 300+ releases to my name in all genres of dance
music.
After Growing up as an Army child in Germany I moved to an army base in Wiltshire, where I could see Stonehenge from my
bedroom window and could hear the music from the Summer Solstice festivals.
Then a friend (Paul Gulliver)who had a band called (Indian summer) introduced me to the music of Kraftwerk,Depeche Mode and the Human league this made me interested in
producing my own music so in 1985 I bought a synthesizer (blue Roland Sh 101) to create my own
mad electronic sounds. This eventually led on to full time producing with a room
full of synths, samplers and other musical toys.
In 1989 I moved from Wiltshire to Leicester
where I made tunes at my parents house then in 1993 I placed an advert in the Leicester mercury for artists and met a band called Sub-bass ,I worked with them for a year or so and through them (via Dj Mjp) I
met DJ SS at his Formation Empire HQ in Leicester. I took in a
few house tracks and Dj SS signed them all on the spot within a week Dj SS offered
me the studio next door to his as an in-house producer producing chunky-house,Harcore,Trance
and early speed-garage under many aliases
my tracks were regular players in the clubs, with DJs such as Lisa
Lashes and the late Tony DeVit,Jeremy healy and the Dreem team playing his tunes. In addition to creating my
own tracks, I also worked with other producers such as Al Mackenzie (D:Ream) and Lisa Lashes produced her first tune with me
and worked on radio jingles alongside artists such as Kelly Le Rok ,Beverly knight and also Beenie
Man
After listening to Dj SS pumping out Drum n Bass
from his studio all day and night,I thought I would give it a go as I had released most other
styles of dance music by this point. My first DnB tune resulted in the track
‘Platinum’, released on Formation‘s ‘Colours’ album and my next tune was
the classic trancey-drum n bass anthem ‘Berlin’, was released on the ‘Country’
series and was picked out by John Peel for airplay for his Radio1 show.
I
produced Many more Drum n Bass tunes for Formation, but after 7 years
I felt it
was time to move on.
I had heard that Mickey Finn had been
playing some of my tunes, and thought he may be interested in
some new tracks which eventually led to an exclusive artist deal with Urban
Takeover. In addition to Formation, Urban Takeover, I have also released on Grid Recordings (Twisted Individual’s Label), Bacillus and
Promethean including a few white label remixes namely Beastie Boys
“Intergalacticâ€, TLC’s “No Scrubs†and Pink’s “Most Girls
Urban Takeover made me take to the decks and start DJ’ing, I have played all around the world starting at The End
(in London!). My third ever booking through Urbantakeover was in Johannesburg & Cape
Town in South Africa, six months later he was halfway around the globe playing
in Hong Kong. I was one of the first ever drum n bass DJ/Producers to
play in Beijing at a club on the edge of Tienamen Square(club Vogue) where I met China’s
version of Madonna who wanted to know what drum n bass was all about!
My last Dj booking I supported 3-time World Mixing Champ, DJ Craze in Porto,
Portugal. Although I enjoy DJ’ing both at home and abroad, I Really prefer to
be in the studio
I Decided to take some time out to make the technological
jump from trusty old Atari to the more flexible PC. I also decided to return
to Wiltshire at this point, eventually settling down, getting married and having
kids. Since returning to My spiritual home, not too far from Stonehenge, I have
been involved in a number of musical projects and even had a cameo in the Shy-FX
& T-Power hit “Shake ur Bodyâ€.
More recently I have been remixing for a
number of artists and im currently working with US girl group Anything But
Monday who are signed to Universal producing, house, garage and other remixes for the girls following
contact though MySpace.
