R.U.N. literally translates to “ARE YOU IN.†R.U.N was founded in 2007 by four Hmong women who believe that art is a universal concept. The forum’s mission is to promote artists from all over the world and connect them to their fans directly. R.U.N. embodies a diverse group of artists and members and only promotes artists with their permission which makes our forum different from others. This gives our members an opportunity to listen to a variety of Asian and American music and also provides a variety of art forms to be displayed.
Today, R.U.N. is promoting artists from North America, Thailand, and China. The artists featured on the forum are dancers, choreographers, actors, disc jockeys, and musicians. Menina Fortunato is currently on tour with Korea’s biggest pop star Rain; Patson Sarindu is an actor; NarongvIt Techatanawat is a producer and a song writer for GMM; Chinuwat Indracusin is a singer who is a member of G-Junior; Jonny Blu is a musician who sings in Chinese and English; and Far-East Movement was formed by three emcees: Kevin Nishimura, James Roh, and Jae Choung who are creating a huge buzz in the United States.
R.U.N. features a different artist every month as our “Star of the Month†and also conducts an exclusive interview for that particular artist. Menina Fortunato was our February star artist; Jonny Blu was our March artist; and Patson Sarindu is presently our April star artist. R.U.N. also includes monthly contests to promote our artists. Members in the past have received autographed pictures and cds. This enables our members to participate on the forum and creates a fun environment for everyone.
R.U.N. will continue to work hard in hopes to bring more attention to Asian artists in the U.S. market. According to U.S. Census Bureau, “Census 2000 showed that the United States population was 281.4 million on April 1, 2000. Of the total, 11.9 million or 4.2 percent, reported Asian.†We strongly believe that Asian music and art are influential in the U.S. In order to be visible, we need to support our Asian artists. There is a saying – “Without demand, there can be no supply.†Show your support and join R.U.N. today and make a difference.
