It has been my good fortune to score some great projects, including 8 seasons of network television and over 30 features, docs and excellent short films. Two years out of the USC scoring program, I was hired by Joss Whedon to score Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Fox. I then scored Angel (seasons 4 and 5) for Fox, Miracles for ABC, all 3 seasons of the Annie-Award winning Duck Dodgers for WB Animation, and Day Break for ABC. My feature film work includes co-scoring with Chris Beck the thriller THE SKULLS III for Universal/Original Film, scoring the Screamfest horror winner HH HOLMES and many more.
Honors include Annie Award for Outstanding Music in an Animated Television Production (Duck Dodgers), Gold Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Film Music and 7 Gold Medals for Musical Excellence by the Park City Film Music Festival, Best Use of Score award by The Film & TV Music Academy and BMI Film Scoring Award. "What makes Douglas stand out is that he's an excellent storyteller. He truly immersed himself in the material, scoring not what we see but what we feel. The result was an incredible score that adds tremendous production value to the film. It's a bonus that he happens to be a great collaborator."
Brad Kean, Director,Entity: Nine
"Doug's understanding of story, character and visuals were as beneficial to the film as were his musical instincts. His light and elegant touch allowed the music to become such an organic part of the narrative, it's hard to imagine the film without it."
Luke Hutton, Director, Shelter
"Douglas is committed to the art of storytelling, and he captured the tone of ROCKETBOY with music that is haunting, lush and magical. I came to him with a unique style in mind, and he was able to achieve it perfectly."
Justin Guerrieri, Director, ROCKETBOY
