Backseat Virtue started with the introduction of Chrissy Gardner to Jeff Conner.
Conner, a veteran and current member of several Cincinnati acts, contacted Gardner after finding she had parted ways with her previous band. The vision was to create an edgy, though accessible, rock band with equal parts swagger, hook and fun. The resulting music can be described as guitar rock that flirts successfully with pop and punk.
Within a few moments of meeting, it was obvious to both that the pairing was a strong start to the future band. Their first practice consisted of writing, rehearsing and recording three songs to submit as a demo to the '05 ' Chicks Rock Fest '. BV was accepted, and '05 CRF made for a strong debut performance. A continuing process of writing and demoing ensued to encourage the already evident momentum.
Shortly after, Robert Taliaferro joined the band on drums, bringing a powerful style and positive attitude.
In Feb. of '07, bassist B joined the band, possessing a great depth of talent and breadth of experience.
The band now moves forward, looking to make a regional impact with the release of their debut self-titled CD. The CD will be available for download and online purchase by 9/07. Please contact [email protected] to make arrangements for purchase in the interim
