Guitar-driven rock with influences such as British Invasion, CBGB-era 70's punk and 90's Brit pop -- that's the basis of the Rollstar sound. Rollstar was founded in 2007 by Brooklyn-based singer & rhythm guitarist Chris Flemer and is currently recording an EP. The EP is being recorded with producer Larry Dvoskin, Grammy nominee who's worked with David Bowie, Meredith Brooks, Sammy Hagar (Van Halen) and more. The first release, "Climbing the Walls", is a blast of rock energy with 70's-inspired vocal harmonies. A preview of the unmastered mix can be heard here.
The song "So Distracted" is also featured on a benefit compilation called "Rock 4 Life Vol. 11" from Quickstar Productions. The CD will raise money and awareness for a disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), a liver disease for which currently the only cure is a liver transplant. Proceeds from the CD will be donated to the PSC Partners Seeking a Cure, a foundation that endeavors to find a cure and treatment for PSC.
