Herjan was founded in the summer of 2005, by Myrnir (Lead, rhythm and acoustic guitars, vocals), Vèorr (Bass, vocals) and Utlagi (Drums).
After six months the band decided to start to play viking folk metal (before, the band was playing hard rock:)); they start to look for a keyboardist, and after a month they found Bani, who wents from the black metal scene.
Then, the four guys start to play some covers of Ensiferum, Finntroll, Turisas and KromleK; at the same time Myrnir and Vèorr start to write songs, keeping inspiration from Nordic Mythology and from bands like KromleK, Eluveitie, Nomans Land, Finntroll.
In november of 2006 a new lead/rhythm guitarist joined the band, Rekkr.
After six months of reharsal, the band played at San pio rockfestival, keeping the 4th position!!!
After that, the band looked for a real singer (before the singer was myrnir), and they found it; the singer is Bjostr, that comes from the thrash metal scene.
Now the band is writing the songs for the debut album NAUD, that will be released in December 2009!!!!
