Influences: My greatest influences were God and Family. If I had not been created, I wouldn't have had a family, and if I hadn't of been around music, I would not have known about the gift of music. I thank God for my family and my love and passion for music.
I grew up with several influences. The first were through my family. My Grandfather on my Mother's side (he is in a better place now) used to sing songs to me and my brother very often. He also led choir singing at his church. He played the fiddle (violin), acoustic guitar, and the mandolin. I didn't get that talent. (My remembrance song for him is Touch of the Master's hand). My mother and her brother played some piano and taught me a little about it. I never expanded on this ability. My Grandparents on my Father's side would have some family gatherings and several of my Uncles would be picking and grinning on the porch, singing at night, and I would just listen while I played as a young boy. My father at one time played guitar, and in his younger days imitated Elvis' singing. I heard he was really good. I heard him sing and play some guitar as well. Both my parents listened to country and some rock and roll (oldies is it's name nowadays) So I heard gospel, trucking country, country, Elvis, and other golden oldies.
I started singing young in the children and youth choirs at church. There, we performed several musical special presentations and plays. So the gospel of God and Jesus were huge in my life. I am thankful I received this.
Finally, when I actually got the bug to write and sing songs, I was really impressed with what I call rocking country, southern rock, 80's bands, and ballads from rock and country. In christian music I enjoy positive alternative, christian rock, contemporary, and praise and worship singers and/or bands. I like songs that talk to my heart and help me as I continue to grow and live my life, because I want the fullest effect. So I have a very broad influence which is seen in all the different songs I do. I guess I am just taking it all in. Music is a passion for me.
The song Voice of The Lord is based off the scripture found in Psalms 29, The acoustics is performed by Patrick Mitchell from The Chris Holland Band, and the recording and mix was done at The Hideout recording studio in New Boston, Texas. Let the Veil Down is a song I co wrote with Patrick You can find this song with references in Matthew 27 and also some in the other Gospels. In the song His Plan, Dustin from The Hideout played the electric guitar lead. His Plan is talked about throughout the Bible. Finally the song In Your Likeness is based off the scripture in Psalms 17:15. My daughter helped with some harmony vocals. I have some other folks that have supported me and even though not mentioned I thank them all for their help and support.
