Soul Tree is a Perth based outfit bringing together a unique blend of funk, blues and soul. The basis of the band formed in early 2005 with the coming together of original local bands Lateral Drift and Infidelity, each seeking a new direction. 2007 sees the band with a solid lineup of eight members from different musical backgrounds, from classically trained, to rock, jazz, progressive, and even musical theatre. The song writing process is a collective effort from all eight members, and results in a diverse range of material, with the focus as much on melody as it is on rhythm, all within their own style. Soul Tree is gigging regularly around Perth and will be launching their five track self titled EP soon (stay tuned), the recording showcases opposite ends of their musical spectrum.
As always, Soul Tree aspires to play regular gigs to crowds that appreciate the subtleties and visceral effects of their music. Their aim is to give a new voice to the traditional roots of Blues, Funk and Soul Music.
