About Me

In today's music industry, it's common to hear hip hop artists tell similar stories about their life. Most of them involve the street life, selling drugs, drug addiction, gang activity, and incarceration. However there is one story that's different, which is the story of 21 year old Aaron Brummell, better known as A-Riginal. Coming from Easton, a small town located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, he feels that his story can enlighten and motivate young aspiring rappers in the same position he was in. At the age of 17, he picked up rapping as a hobby by him and his friend freestyling, just to kill time and make the day go by faster. Just 4 years later he boasts a successful album that's gained exposure locally and nationally, a loyal fan that base that stretches all across the US, and a single being requested at local radio stations. After 2 years of rapping, the multi talented musician decided it wasn't enough to just write and record songs, but to make the music behind them as well. Due to the lack of money to afford beats and studio time, he began to teach himself to produce his own music, by learning to make beats, as well as record, mix, and master his own songs. A year later he put all his knowledge to use when he dropped his first single, the self produced street anthem, "On Da Grind". The song immediately built a buzz in Maryland, as well as California. A few months later, in October of 2006, he released his official debut album titled "Secret's Out". In it's first month it sold over 100 copies locally, without any promotion or being sold in any stores, strictly word of mouth. Although "On Da Grind" was the official single from the album, it was a different song that would nexpectedly blew up to be his biggest song ever. The local anthem, "410", produced by his partner and in house beatmaker Deuce Bigalo, jumpstarted many opportunities that he had not yet experienced. It became a popular ringtone locally, as well as getting him spots to perform at local events, and landing him at the Baltimore based radio station, 92Q. The song was requested many times, but not enough to be put in heavy rotation. Through all his success, A-Riginal remains humble by continuing to work hard and pursue his goals. You never know what life has in store, however you determine your own destiny. A-Riginal is determined and destined to be a successful artist.
