Lilly

Hi, my name is Lilly Moscovitz. When I was a teenage girl facing persecution from the Nazis, a kind neighbor hid me in her apartment from the Gestapo. I was scared for my life. I really didn't want to be shipped to a concentration camp. I wished I could just lead my normal life. I wanted to be a doctor and heal sick people. However, that dream never came true. I still remember that terrible night the Gestapo raided the apartment. They took us all away and separated us. I never saw my family after that day. The concetration camp was horrible. I was forced to do heavy labor and was often beat by the SS Guards. Finally, the war ended and we were freed. I was one among the few Jews that survived. My sister and her husband did not. I recently found out that they were killed a couple days before i was freed.
