Anek (NEW SONG UP)

-What does the band name mean?
The name ANEK takes inspiration from the egyptian symbol Ankh, the cross of the eternal life. It is considered one of the most powerful item of the ancient Egypt, so that divinities are always represented holding it in their hands.
-Where are you from?
We are 50% from Italy and 50% from Chile, but currently we live in Italy.
-Where is your inspiration from?
Some bands we like are actually 30S2M, Three Days Grace, System Of A Down, Him, Linkin Park, MCR, Fall Out Boy and many others... from the past, Nirvana, Beatles, Cure, Van Halen...
-When did your band start?
The band began playing in later 2000 and go on with three former members till September 2006 when Dave joined and completed the group.
-Who writes the songs and where do the songs come from?
Our songs are totally written by the band. First of all, one of us take an idea or a nice riff and shows it to the band, then we work all together and every member give his contribute to the final song.
-Why do you have this band?
'cos we love music and we have emotions inside and music is the only way to take them outside.
-Pretend I dont have speakers how would you describe your sound?
Sound and style may change from track to track, depending by state of mind and mood while writing the song. You may find a piece of any band above in our songs, but the style is our style. We're not trying to copy or emulate others, we're just trying to do and share what we like most.
-Do you talk to your friends on myspace or are you out to just be heard with your music?
We are here mostly to promote ourself and share our music with anyone who likes it.
But we often leave photo comments or messages too.
-What about the 5439 symbols?
It could sound strange but we didn't chose that: the numbers found us! It's a bit long to explain how, but for some reason we got this numbers from a friend before we chose our band name. Recently we realized that writing them in a particular way they reveal the name ANEK. We liked it and decided to add them to our logo.
-Do you have an album or albums out?
We have a huge selections of songs and are working to our first album. It will come out ASAP. We are currently recording some new stuff.
-Do you do concerts in other states?
Not yet, but we'd like to...
