Ria has been performing since the tender age of five. She was born Ria SaDe Watkins,of Camden, New Jersey , on January 29th, 1986. At a very young age, she was a student at Sydney's School Of Dance which was located in her hometown(Camden). She had dreams of being a famous tap dancer. She took Ballet, Jazz(modern dance) and Interpretive(african) Dance but Tap was her favorite. Every year a recital was held at The Academy Of Music ,in Philadelphia,PA, were she would pour her heart out through dance. Her mother,(Arnnitra Watkins) who was also a dancer and a skilled painter, always encouraged her to follow her dream to be a dancer, but at the age of 10 Ria realized she had another gift. It was the gift of song. At the age of 12 Ria began writing songs. She then formed a group with her three bestfriends. The young group was called "Jus Cuz" (Just 'Cause). They would practice their dance routines that Ria choreographed and study the lyrics that she also wrote in the basement of her house. They would put on shows for their neighbors and also perform at local blockparties.
