Panjeazz Quartet

About Me

A new quartet to explore the environment of a one million years old continent, always full of surprises to discover, where the Jazz is the common language, with thousands of slangs and dialects mixing: the Panjeazz. The PJQ offers its passion to the research of a modern sound, with a burden of histories and stories, a passion for crossroads among different sounds and traditions which led the composers, as singles, to work for theatre, cinema, radio and television and to collaborate –among the others- with musicians like Ray Levier, Joe Locke, Gorge Garzone, Ares Tavolazzi, John Abercrombie, Ettore Fioravanti, Paolo Fresu, Miroslav Vitous, Francois Moutin, Marco Tamburini, Jim Porto, Fabrizio Bosso, Bill Smith, Mario Raja, Maurizio Giammarco, Giovanni Tommaso, Andy Gravish, Dario Deidda. The first CD by PJQ, “IGOR”, and the recent upgrade promo “IGOR 2.0” -produced by the etiquette Helikonia Jazz from Rome and retailed by Jazzos.com- are a tribute to the fantastic movie “Joung Frankenstein” and disclose the ironic mood and the attention to divertissement of PJQ, proposing an equilibrated mixture of New York mood originals and careful interpretations of tunes (i.e. Wynton Marsalis’ or Kenny Garrett’s) which already became new standards. The quartet has been playing in many clubs in Italy and at the Tuscia in Jazz 2006-2007 and Pescara Jazz 2007 festivals.
