I started my Sisterlocks® journey about 5 years ago when I dropped my mother off to get her Sisterlocks. I stayed for a minute and watched the Sisterlocks video and thought to myself, I would never get this hairstyle and I knew at that moment that my mother would never keep those twigs in her hair! My mother's consultant was great in trying to convince me, but at that time, I wasn't buying it. After about 10 hours I picked her up and almost died laughing after seeing those twigs in her hair. She hated her hair and I wanted so badly to tell her, "I told you so." My mother wore a wig for several months and I felt bad for her. However after a few months when her hair started to grow and fill in, her hair was starting to look beautiful. Then when her shoulder length hair was my length and getting longer I couldn't believe it....my mother has never ever had long hair and now it was longer and more beautiful than my relaxed hair! I made up my mind I was cutting my relaxer out and getting Sisterlocks! I had a consultation in December of 2005 and had my hair locked in January of 2006, by a wonderful loctician, Sharon. I loved my hair immediately and I knew right away, this wasn't about a hairstyle, but a lifestyle! In May of 2006 I took the Sisterlocks training class, with the intentions of only doing my hair, my mother's hair and my daughter's hair. Before I finished the class I had ladies calling me because they had heard I was taking the class and would need 3 qualifying heads. By August I had my 3 qualifying heads. But I didn't send in my certification because I wanted to make sure I sent in my best heads and not just the first three. In October I finally mailed my certification papers and pictures. The home office called me in December to let me know my that my pictures look great and my certification was approved. I now have over 20 clients and I truly enjoy giving women the freedom I have with my hair! So if you haven't already, "Come Home to Sisterlocks®".Be sure and check out the pictures and check back often for updates. Some of my clients are coming up on their 1 and 2 year Sisterlocks anniversary and I want to post their pictureswww.sisterlocks.com
