I began my music career at the age of 7 when I sat down and started teaching myself how to play the keyboard on mums Baldwin Funmachine. When I got to high school I learnt the trumpet and played in the High School Concert band right through school. During this same time I sat at home with a pair of second hand drum sticks and a piece of conveyor belt rubber and tapped out some drum rhythms. I was the fill in drummer for the school band and this saw me carry on playing drums after leaving school in an old time Country Band called Myall Country and fill in drummer at Music Festivals. From playing drums I decided to learn the guitar so I could earn myself a spot in country rock band Twang Villa. I played with Twang Villa for a number of years adding the Harmonica to my play list and we supported artists such as James Blundell, The Deltones and Lee Kernaghan and Twang Villa recorded a self titled album in 1996. I relocated to Adelaide in 1999 and joined Adelaide pub band 'PALE'. In 2003 I met Talia Wittmann and we starting performing together. The duo grew to a band currently known as Talia Wittmann & Overdrive.
