About Me

Shane was formerly a member of cane141, a band from the West of Ireland who released one album on an Irish independent Secret Records and a second on Setanta offshoot Décor in London. cane141 also recorded a session for the BBC's John Peel and collaborated with the likes of Sean O’ Hagen, Mark Eitzel, Patrick Fitzgerald and Christian Vogel on singles and Ep’s. Shane left the group nearly four years ago and has been enjoying a reclusive existence up until recently when he has started making music again. The tracks above are works in progress. ‘Second Days’ features only sound from shane’s house, no musical instruments and is indicative of shane’s musical direction at the moment, where musical instruments are competing feverishly with found sounds. 'Niva May' is based around sounds from a house in Hackney and sampled piano. The work ethic for the moment appears to incorporate sampled acoustic instruments and the afore-mentioned found sounds. Work is ongoing.
