Abbos Kosimov was born Tashkent, Uzbekistan to a musician family. His older brother Umar Kosimov introduce him to the Honored artist of Uzbekistan Tuychi Inogomov and Abbos started attending his doyra school and at the same time attending a special music school. Abbos’s father, Rakhmat Kosimov, enrolled him to this music school. He also attended doyra school of the famous doyra players Brothers Islamovs. Abbos entered College of Culture and Music and graduated in 1988. He learned doyra from master of doyra Mamurjon Vahabov during this time. In 1989, Abbos entered Tashkent State Institute of Culture. In 1991, he won the second prize in the Competition of percussion instruments of Central Asia and Kazakistan. He graduated from Tashkent State Institute of Culture in 1994.
