What to say? What to say aside from that I’m one of the greatest blues folk to grace this wailing rock. I was born so long ago I don’t care to remember, or speak of it, in a town called Natchez, Mississippi – or there abouts. I’ve worked plenty in medicine shows round Jackson, Mississippi and use to live down John Hart Street with Papa Charlie McCoy and married the likes of Casey Bill Weldon (after his divorce from Minnie). I’ve only got 6 songs recorded and don’t plan on releasing any others any time soon, so don’t ask. Two single vinyls I did in 1930, Grafton, Wisconsin at Paramount with one of the greatest guitarists and best companions Elvie Thomas. I recorded… let’s see… Last Kind Words / Skinny Leg Blues & Motherless Child Blues / Over to My House. Shit, I’ll be… that was over 70 years ago. The next year in 31, we did another single: Pick Poor Robin Clean / Eagles On a Half. It’s a crying shame but that’s it and that’s all there will be.My lyrics are dark, but my music sings.
