About Me

-From 'Salad Days' to 'Love Satellites' to 'The Steven Estebans'-As the years passed, as the years add up to our age our passion for music has never faded out. Although at times we stumble in the dark due to our hasty decisions that we fail to see what really makes us do what we really want to do. Pardon us for being human. I would like to introduce to you The STEVEN ESTEBANS, First they started out as THE SALAD DAYS way back 1998, ARTIST DAIS was their ultimate goal of gigs. They were playing covers from the likes of JAMES, STONE ROSES, THE SMITHS, ECHO AND THE BUNNIES, THE CURE, JESUS AND MARY and a whole lot more from the era the group now calls THE OLD WAVE era. Three of us were the original members of Salad Days. The Salad Days enjoyed playing a whole bunch of gigs, back to back gigs, midweek sessions, concerts for a cause, Indie projects and any gig where we could play at. Artist Dais (mango ave) Cebu indeed at that time was of great help in a bands career. One would say 'If you havent played in Artist Dais, then it could be that your not a rockstar!' The Salad Days opened the gig produced by RAVE-UPS production entitled C-60 wherein bands ranges not only from cebu but from manila as well, as far as i can remember, Soft Pillow Kisses, Sonet 58, were few of the many who played in that gig. Of course, the very controversial band from cebu 'D' ROCKERS' who surprised everybody in their 'cool' style of performance. As far as i can remember, D' ROCKERS were the first band who performed MADONNA's Crazy for You in a SHOEGAZE-EY version, way before a manila band called it their own. The Salad Days also played a GIG produced by UNSYN productions entitled GOTHIC NIGHT with Manila's Gothic band DOMINION. It was a very fulfilling experience for the group then. The Salad Days faded out when few of its members were shredded away due to personal reasons like work. The group then rested for a while and searched for a new member that could fill in the position of a frontman. We did found a new man and changed our name to LOVE SATELLITES. Made it clear that we no longer do COVERS. Love Satellites released a first single entitled 'ODE TO US' a song written by the frontman's brother and was played over a couple of local radio stations including NU 107 Manila. Unfortunately, the frontman had to leave the group for a work opportunity in London. Lucky for them bass player turned frontman rescued them from falling apart. Despite the adjustment with their new frontman they were able to release a second single entitled SO COME ON. Which also enjoyed a good airplay over NU Manila. Love Satellites finished an EP, had tours with HAPPY DAYS & AMBASSADORS in Cagayan de ORO with a female vocals due to the frontman was an on-call personell at the hospital. Love Satellites had a good number of gigs that one may perceive it as a promising new band. They planned of making it to MANILA by touring a week or two to promote their newly finished EP entitled COVERSTAR, the EP was acutely released but never made it to the promise land (manila). Primarily the frontman left the group for very stupid and personal reasons. Everything went down for the Love Satellites, until now.... The Steven Estebans a new group apart from THE SALAD DAYS AND LOVE SATELLITES... but now we are not a performing band. We love to call ourselves a STUDIO BAND in its real essence of the word. Someday we might get to play live. But for now, the PASSION is to make songs. Songs that made us whole through the years.-The Steven Estebans-
