Sandy Bailey

I have been singing in various gospel, blues, and bluegrass groups most of my life; and somehow in my original music I've managed to combine these influences into something new, but not extremely divergent from traditional American roots music. I try to come up with tunes that I can sing with the unrefined edge of a folk singer, while still being able to convey that emotional, soulful delivery found in gospel music. Admittedly, one of my favorite elements of songwriting is arranging vocal harmonies, which you will come to notice I include any chance I get.I'm very excited to be working on my first EP with my friend and area jazz musician, Jeff D'Antona. Jeff is producing the record and has added his lovely "jazzy" touch to my roots music stew...and I must admit, I am quite in love with the concoction. I've put up a preview of one of our rough mixes for your listening pleasure. I plan to have the album finalized and released by the end of Summer 2009.
