I have been drawing and painting for over 20 years.I began entering juried shows about 8 years ago and have won numerous awards for my work.I work mainly in oils, although I am finding new mediums such as colored pencil & watercolor, a joy to work with. Portraits are my favorite. I use people off the street for my models. They are much more real & beautiful.I work in thin layers of glazes until I build the colors to the rich depth I'm looking for. I use
this technique whether I'm painting a still-life or a portrait.I also teach advanced drawing. For me the foundation of a great painting will always be a
great drawing.
