The Buddha Brothers is the latest band from legendary singer Gary Floyd. In the early 1980s, Gary fronted the seminal Texas punk band The Dicks, inspiring the Butthole Surfers to write a song about him, and Mudhoney's classic cover of
"Hate The Police". After The Dicks, Gary and Lynn Perko (now of Imperial Teen) played together in Sister Double Happiness, and subsequently Gary fronted The Gary Floyd Band, and Black Kali Ma. Gary's bands have released records on Sub Pop, SST, Alternative Tentacles, and Reprise, and have toured to international acclaim. With The Buddha Brothers, he continues to refine his unique country, blues, and rootsy rock vision.
