Projecto Iara

O Projecto Iara apresenta “Ritual”, um concerto-performativo, no qual Helena Madeira (Voz, Shruti box, Dança); Ian Carlo Mendoza (Percurssões); Pedro Castanheira (Guitarra, Didgeridoo, Flauta transversal) e Afonso Castanheira (Contrabaixo), se encontram e se expressam, através de rituais de Som, de Corpo e de Voz.
Os instrumentos fundem-se trazendo as sensações e cores do crepúsculo, da noite em torno da fogueira, do amanhecer dos pássaros. Numa Viagem Contínua entre florestas e lugares longínquos, numa Viagem ao centro da Terra.
Através da Música e da Dança partem de uma Estória de “veredas e caminhos adormecidos pelos séculos”, numa vivência dos elementos Terra, Fogo, Ar e Água; num encontro performativo sempre novo.
Iara é um dos seres mitológicos mais populares da Amazónia. É descrita como a Senhora das Águas (Elemento Purificador). A que mora no fundo dos rios. A que canta e dança nas margens. Guardiã das Marés, movimenta-se numa simbiose profunda com a Natureza.
Project Iara presents “Ritual”, a performing-concert in which Helena Madeira (Voice, Shruti box, Dance); Ian Carlo Mendoza (Percurssion); Pedro Castanheira (Guitar, Didgeridoo, Transversal Flute) and Afonso Castanheira (Contrabass) meet and express through rituals of Sound, Body and Voice. The instruments melt, bringing the sensations and colors of twilight, the night around the fire, the dawn of the birds. On a Continuous Journey between forests and remote places, on a Trip to the Center of the Earth. Through the Music and Dance they start from a Story of “trails and ways asleep throughout the centuries”, on an experience of the elements, Earth, Fire, Air and Water; on a constantly new performing meeting.
Iara is one of the most popular mythological creatures from Amazon. It is described as the Lady of the Waters (Purifying Element). The one who lives in the bottom of the rivers. The one who sings and dances along the river edges. Guardian of the Tides, she moves under a profound symbiosis with nature.
